“Behavioural Detection” spots viruses long before traditional virus detection based on the behaviour of the virus. The technology enables us to catch significantly more malware significantly earlier than traditional reactive virus detection programs.

“Safe Browsing” has been added to our Antiphishing module. It flags any registered, unsafe web site that come up in search results.

“Inspector” is a vulnerability scanner: While few consumers realize it, out-of-date software is one of the biggest security risks out there, as vulnerabilities in old versions can be exploited by hackers. The Inspector module locates the programs that need to be updated, and reminds the user to do so.

“Password Protection” ensures that only the BullGuard account owner can change security settings in vital security functionality in the Anitivirus engine, the Firewall and the Spamfilter. This means that no one but you who can adjust your desired level of security.

Naturally, we have also improved our general performance – both the Firewall and the Spamfilter have had an overhaul and the usability is forever being tweaked and tuned. Some of these - including a reduced memory footprint - have already been rolled out as silent updates to version 9 and will naturally be available in version 10.
Of course we’ll provide you with more information on the new release and testing practices later.
